Angel Hankerchiefs

On mornings with heavy dew, the tall grass meadows near my home contain glistening spider webs. Dew drops form on the strand, making the entire web look like a set of pearl necklaces strung together. These are my favorite mornings of the year; I usually only see them two or three times a summer in the dry Colorado climate. I have read that these pearl glistening spider webs have been called 'angel's hankerchiefs'.

Plant Noise Makers

Interesting noise makers can be made by sticking dandelion leaves and stems (with a slit 1/4 inch up the stem on your mouth side) in your teeth and blowing outward.
