Riding the bus makes me very happy, because of the simplicity, to be able to sit there and daydream out the window and listen to music, or doze off, or half listen to the other rider's conversations. Living light is a side benefit, that you are doing something to lessen your impact on this earth.I havent been able to ride the bus as much as I would like this spring, because of all my nature programs, and our schedules at work. When I work late it is hard to take the bus, because then I get home after 7, which is not fair to my loyal dogs waiting for my company there.
But this morning I put my bike on the early bus, (6:15) and got off a mile and a half from work, so I could cycle through the Bear Creek Greenbelt at sunrise. I went under some plums in bloom, breathing in their sweet fragrance as I passed.
Just after I got to work it started snowing hard (above picture), which was good timing. By evening the storm was done and the roads were dry.
As I went by Crown Hill park on the way home I happened to see a pastel tan field and a soft grey sky, next to a fiery red plum:

When I see things like that my heart is lifted, and it feels like an angel may have been traveling along side with one hand on my shoulder, nudging my gaze to something of wonder and beauty.
